Dr. Arthur Kleinman is a physician and professor of medical anthropology in Global Health and Social Medicine and of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He is a leading figure in several fields, including medical anthropology, cultural psychiatry, global health, social medicine, and medical humanities. He is also a China scholar and has conducted research in Taiwan from 1969 until 1978 and in China since 1978.
